Yvan Le Bozec

Born in Le Mans in 1958, Yvan Le Bozec lives and works in Cachan and Quimper, where he teaches at the Ecole Superieure d?Art. His work, with a deal of humour, ?intrinsically? links writing and drawing. The letter Y, the initial of his first name, rapidly became his trademark signature. It insinuates itself everywhere, from photos to screen prints, as a monogram, as a wallpaper pattern, in the upholstery of furniture (Le Divan d?Yvan). It grows on walls, finds its way into DNA chains - in red plastic modules for DIY patterns ? or in light drawings. It can even be observed in his monumental mural painting. Yvan Le Bozec?s work can be found in the Languedoc-Rousillon, Bourgogne, Brittany, Pays de la Loire and Rhone-Alps FRACs as well as in the Montpellier, Nantes, Compiègne and Caen Artothèques and the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul.
