Guillaume Pinard

Born in Nantes in 1971, Guillaume Pinard lives in Toulouse and teaches in Rennes at the EESAB. He cultivates a sense of indiscipline by regularly swapping media and mixing up references. He draws intensively ? nourished by comic books during his youth ? paints in acrylic and oil with equal insistence, sculpts and writes epistolary novels. His early animations narrate the absurd destiny of con-con and his mural charcoal drawings ironically copy the great masters. An abstract slice of bread and jam on a green background (a kind of kitchen Mondrian), almost surreal gaseous figures? As an artist he works on ?reconciliation?, combining divers elements, playing on scale and making a virtue of amateurism and regression. His work has been exhibited in various contemporary art centres: the Quartier in Quimper (2015), the BBB in Toulouse (2013) and in Carjac (2012). It can be found in the collections of the Musée Ingres, the Musée de la Ville de Marseille and the Limousin, Midi-Pyrénées and PACA FRACs.
