Born in 1976, Nicolas Boulard lives in Paris. This son of a wine-maker from the Champagne region in France brings together art and gastronomy. He experiments with production methods and winemaking traditions to produce his own ?vintages? through the assembly of grapes in order to obtain different shades of colour (Nuanciers). His cheeses, made by local producers, following the drawings of Sol Lewitt, reproduce forms found in minimal art. With a humour only common to the more serious amongst us, he takes interest in in the marks left on the ground by flying saucers. The artist has also produced animated movies. His work can be found in public collections in France (FRAC Champagne-Ardennes and the National Centre for Plastic Arts). He was exhibited at the MoMA in San Francisco (2010), the FRAC Alsace (2012) the Centre d?Art in Clamart (2013) the MAC/VAL in Vitry (2015) and FRAC Aquitaine (2016).
