De la jouissance des ruines, 2015
Born in Amiens in 1947, Joël Hubaut currently lives and works between Paris and the Normandy (France). He teaches at the l'École d'Art et des Médias in Caen. This ?artistic wholesaler? works just as happily on installations, drawing, painting or the written word (poetry) and in a style he has dubbed ?Pest-Modern?. As early as 1970, his ?épidémik? writing style (crosses, circles and triangles) invaded all the different forms he employed, in the struggle against social formatting and the ?over-categorization? of media. Inspired more or less at random by Burroughs, Rabelias, Satie and the BMPT group of artists, he has put together performances (alongside Jean-Jacques Lebel and Félix Guattari), painted proliferating ?Semiotik? rabbits, founded a music magazine: FRACTAL MUSIK, practiced Camembert cheese throwing and loves pastiche and parody. His work is represented at the parisian gallery Lara Vincy since 1980 as well as the galerie du jour agnès b.
